Are you in the process of moving an elderly parent into an assisted living facility, nursing home or your own home? Do you have friends or family making this life-changing transition? If so, The News & Advance wants to hear from you.
Since March, we’ve run a monthly series called “Rites of Life” — a project that explores some of life’s major moments and transitions. Past stories include a baby’s first days of life, a boy’s first hunt, marriage and the empty nest.
For our next installment, we would like to explore what happens when an adult child begins to take charge of an elderly parent’s care. We hope to document this transition as it happens.
This can be a powerful experience, one that touches many families.
If you are interested in sharing your story or if you know someone who would be, please call Liz Barry at (434) 385-5524 or e-mail .
