Centra Health to celebrate smokeout
Centra Health will celebrate the 32nd annual Great American Smokeout Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lynchburg General Hospital. The event is open to the public.
Lung disease support group to meet at library
The Better Breathers Club, a chronic lung disease support group sponsored by the American Lung Association of Virginia, will meet Monday at the Forest Public Library, 15583 Forest Road, Forest. Speakers will discuss simple preventive maintenance designed to make a home safer and more efficient and about basic Medicare, supplements and Medicare Advantage Plans Part D. Refreshments are served at 6:30 p.m. with program from 7 to 8 p.m. For information, call Betty Simpson at (540) 297-3788.
Westminster Canterbury to host talk on aging
“The Future of Healthy Aging in America: The Quiet Crisis in Geriatric Care” will be presented Friday beginning at 8 a.m. in the Commons, Westminster Canterbury, 501 VES Road. The registration fee, which include breakfast and lunch, is $25. The deadline to register is Nov. 19.

Liberty University to host health fair
A Community Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Tolsma Indoor Track at Liberty University. The event features free admission, health screenings, demonstrations, food samples, door prizes, and a variety of health-related vendors and representatives from several nonprofit agencies.
