LC to host open house for potential students
Lynchburg College will hold an open house for prospective transfer and Access students from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Alumni House Lounge. The Access program offers discounted rates to adult learners age 25 years or older who wish to study at Lynchburg College.
The college will waive its $30 application fee for all completed applications submitted during the open house.

Cemetery to offer wreath making classes
Laurie Jamerson, historic grounds supervisor for Old City Cemetery, Point of Honor, Kemper Station and Monument Terrace, will conduct wreath making workshops, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and again from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30. All materials will be provided and will consist of greens and natural trimmings freshly gathered, most from the gardens of the Old City Cemetery. Participants must bring their own hand pruners. The cost is $50 per person.

Tessy Plastics collecting footwear
In conjunction with Soles4Souls, Tessy Plastics, located at 231 Jefferson Ridge Parkway, is collecting gently worn footwear and/or donations that will be shipped to people in need, whether they are victims of a natural disaster or subject to living in extreme poverty.
