ACHS class of ’88 to hold 20-year reunion

Moose Association to discuss Internet safety
The Virginia Moose Association will host a charity motorcycle ride Saturday to benefit Internet safety education efforts of the Safe Surfin’ Foundation. Special guest leading the pack is Erik Estrada, a national spokesperson for the non-profit foundation.
Moose members will treat riders to a picnic with Estrada and time for pictures and autographs. A dance featuring the band Dragonfly will follow later that evening. To participate in the ride or to purchase tickets for the dance, call 237-3006.
Training available for prospective tutors
The Lynchburg Literacy Council Inc. will offer its fall tutor training for those who wish to become volunteer tutors in adult basic education and/or English as a second language. The 12-hour training will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23 and Oct. 24 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Fellowship Hall of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1022 Floyd St. There is no charge for training or materials. HHS class of ’78 to hold 30-year reunion
The Heritage High School Class of 1978 will hold its 30-year reunion beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 with the Heritage against Amherst football game and tailgate party at the Lynchburg City Stadium. Tickets are $3 per person. A social will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 34, 221 Wiggington Road. Naturalist Program to sponsor fall festival
The Lynchburg Parks & Recreation’s Naturalist Program and the Center for Science Teaching and Learning at Riverside Park will sponsor a family-friendly fall festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at Riverside Park located of Rivermont Ave.

LC to host student information session
Lynchburg College will host an information session for prospective graduate students from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Alumni House Lounge. LC offers course work leading to the M.A., the M.Ed., and the M.B.A. degrees.

Museum to host annual Ghost Walk
The Bedford Museum and Genealogy Library will present its annual Ghost Walk “Snippets From Our Past” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday (rain date — Oct. 23) in Longwood Cemetery, Bedford. The tours will leave from the Longwood Ave. Baptist Church parking lot. Golf carts will be provided at the 6:30 tour for those not able to walk the distance.
Tickets, $8 in advance, are available at the local library and the Bedford Museum. Ticket are $10 at the door. For more information, call 586-4520.
