Wednesdays have become another market day at the Lynchburg Community Market.
There’s a difference, though. The Wednesday market, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., features organic produce and items. At least three vendors of organic produce and items are on hand, in addition to being there on Saturdays.
The Wednesday organic market started a couple of weeks ago, selling some of the earlier crops, such as lettuce, Lynchburg Community Market Manager Janet Rose-Campbell said.
As the growing season continues into July, “we’re going to be getting a lot more produce in,” she said.
The hours have proved convenient for some, especially seniors, Rose-Campbell said. And the city of Lynchburg shuttles folks from one if its programs geared to seniors to the market.
The organic market will continue into the fall.
