Idol at Annie’s
Former “American Idol” contestant Bucky Covington will be in concert at 8 p.m. Friday at Cattle Annie’s, 4009 Murray Place. Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 at the door. The show is 21 and older. For more information call (434) 846-3206.

Stage Combat workshop at Randolph College
Geoffrey Kershner will teach a Stage Combat Workshop for adults in Thoresen Theatre at Randolph College on Saturday and Sunday. The workshop will go from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday with an hour lunch break and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday with a public performance of fights at 2 p.m. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Academy of Fine Arts schedules annual sale
The Academy of Fine Arts will host the annual Cash and Carry Holiday Show and Sale through Dec. 23 in the Art Up Front Gallery with work by AFA members and other local artists. Portrait artist Claudia Van Koba will be available the first three Saturdays in December to draw quick portraits for customers.
