Know, and feel secure

A s I was seeking God for what to write, God told me to share some of the revelations that He has given us during some of our services.
We have often talked about faith. Hebrews 11:1 (King James version) says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Then II Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
So faith is not just believing God can and will do what He promised; faith is knowing God has already done it. Believing is saying, “I am still hopeful,” but knowing is saying, “I know He has answered my prayers and heard my supplication.”
Knowing gives us that extra assurance that His will is done in our lives. Let’s take, for example, the fourth chapter of Matthew. It states that Jesus was led into the wilderness by the “Holy Spirit.” It means we — as children of God, heirs of the Kingdom thanks to Jesus the Christ — in our wilderness experience, we are not alone. If the spirit of God leads us, then He has designed this situation for us.
Whatever you are going through, He created it for you because when He said He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He meant that you will never go through a test that He didn’t design just for you. God is right there with you, because He has the answer to your test.
In this same chapter, Satan wanted Jesus to bow down to him and worship him. God spoke to me in a revelation that by Satan being kicked out of heaven, he was out of his atmosphere. Now, when he saw Jesus, the Son of God, he thought that by Jesus being out of his atmosphere (or so Satan thought), Jesus had no power and was weak, that He could be easily tempted. Satan does us the same way; when he sees we have not prayed or fasted as we should, have not laid before God, have not spent time with him or have not read the word of God, Satan thinks we are out of our atmosphere with God and comes to pounce on us to tear into our faith in God.
But being like Christ, when the enemy comes, we can stand and know within ourselves that He reigns inside us to keep us from falling.
So many believers have lost focus on God and the purpose of being saved. People look at the size of the church and the size of the congregation. When you start talking about ministry – in my experience and some of you all can witness – the first thing people say is, “How many members do you have?” God is looking at where your heart is, not where your flesh attends. There are just as many dying spiritually in the big church as in the small, and vice versa. Then when one is perceived as not measuring up, one becomes an outcast or overlooked. And that, my friend, is not how the body of Christ is supposed to operate.
If we, as the body of Christ, would stop being so divided, then we could conquer a lot of things in this world. We, as a body of Christ, need to be of one accord, and stop being racist and biased. A house divided cannot stand (Mark 3:25). Suicide, drugs, gangs, wars, child abuse and many other things in this world — we can reach God’s ear, if we take a stand and come together as one and pray for the mercy of our Father to deliver us from evil. II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
It can’t get any simpler than that. The word said his people. We have a responsibility to God to stand for right when everything has gone wrong. I have seen bumper stickers that say God Bless America, but I say God have mercy on America. We need to go back to our first love and that is Jesus Christ and God the Father who created this earth.
Now, tell me who is equipped to run it? The one who designed it.
