The plot thickened last week on My Boys (9:30 p.m., TBS) when Bobby’s brother put the moves on P.J.

When the comedy series’ second season began last month, it was revealed that P.J. — a female sportswriter whose best pals are all guys — chose fellow reporter Bobby to go on a romantic vacation to Italy with her.

Except she didn’t mention the romance part, and Bobby thought he was just along for the ride as a friend.

P.J. never got the courage to admit her true feelings, and Bobby soon began dating Andy’s Swedish nanny. Now they’re set to get hitched.

When the storyline first started to swing this way, I was so over it.

You could see the climax coming a mile away: P.J. would finally confess her feelings to Bobby on his wedding day, probably right before the ceremony.

And, I assumed, it was very likely the season would end in true cliffhanger fashion, with Bobby about to make his choice.

But then we were introduced to Bobby’s older brother, Jack, last week.

And P.J. finally admitted to Bobby that she’d had romance on the mind when she invited him to Italy, but told him she was over it now. He was definitely thrown for a loop and hinted that he would have reciprocated had he known earlier.

As for big brother, he was immediately smitten with P.J., and the episode ended with the two of them smooching.

The season could still end at Bobby’s wedding with the same scenario I predicted, but throwing Bobby’s brother into the mix was a great twist.

He’s a charmer and had great chemistry with P.J. I hope the writers aren’t just using him as a foil to make Bobby jealous. It would be fun to see Jack and P.J. together for awhile.

But I still don’t want Bobby marrying that nanny!
