UPDATE: Suspect arrested in Danville robbery

9:45 a.m. UPDATE:

The suspect wanted in the robbery the Fas Mart on West Main Street early Monday morning was arrested by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Terry Dean Barbour, 26, of Clover, was arrested Monday night and charged with robbery. He is currently being held at the Halifax County Adult Detention Center without bond, according to a news release from the Danville Police Department.

Danville police released information about the robbery and Barbour’s picture Monday morning. As a result of the tips police received Monday, Barbour was arrested.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with an overnight robbery at the Fas Mart on West Main Street. 

At about 12:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to the Fas Mart where an employee said a white man between 30 and 40 walked into the store and asked directions to the restroom.

After going to the restroom, the suspect grabbed a drink from the cooler and placed it on the counter and produced a note demanding money and indicating he had a gun, according to a news release sent from the police department.

The employee opened the drawer, and the suspect reached into the drawer. He fled the scene in a Ford Taurus with an undetermined amount of money, according to the release. 

The suspect is described as a white male between 30 and 40, with a slender build and standing around 6 feet tall. He had a hearing aid on the outside of his right ear. He had a close hair cut and red facial hair. He was wearing a beige work shirt that had a red logo on it with work boots and jeans.
